Hendershot, Charles C., 84 of Stewartsville, Ohio died Friday, February 18, 2011 in Wheeling Hospital.
He was born at Echo, Ohio on March 19, 1926 a son of the late Chalmer and Edna Gatten Hendershot.
Charles was a retired employee of the former Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, a member of the Church of Christ at St. Joe, the Wheeling Area Chapter #280 of The Mended Hearts, Inc. and was a decorated Army veteran of World War II.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Inez Willison Hendershot; a grandson, Frank W. Roach, III; 3 sisters, Leona and Mabel Hendershot and Olive Dixon; 1 brother, John Hendershot.
He is survived by his children, Sandra (Bill) Cole of Jacobsburg, OH, Charles (Lora) Hendershot, Jr. of Bellaire, Linda Probst of Glencoe, Pamela (Butch Baker) Hendershot of Belmont, Thomas (Judy) Hendershot of Stewartsville and Ronald (Dessa) Hendershot of Glencoe; 2 sisters, Mary Bass of St. Clairsville and Dorothy Koonce of Shadyside; 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Toothman Funeral Home, Jacobsburg, Oho on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. where Military services will be conducted Tuesday at 12:45 p.m. by the Belmont Co. Council of American Legions followed by funeral services at 1:00 p.m. with Rusty Atkinson officiating. Burial will follow in Warnock Cemetery.
