Charles D. Foster, 78 of Centerville, Ohio died peacefully on Sunday, December 23, 2007 at East Ohio Regional Hospital in Martins Ferry.
He was born August 5, 1929 in Belmont, Ohio, a son of the late Charles and Lucy Foster.
Charles retired from Ohio Edison in 1990 after 35 years of service as an electrician. He was happily married for 57 years. He was a member of the Centerville Christian Church where he served as board member and treasurer, and a former member of the Smith Township Fire Dept. He enjoyed his Allis-Chalmers tractors and had several restored over the years. He loved life and his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Hazel Kemp and Margaret Yost.
He is survived by his loving wife, Chloe Durbin Foster; a son, Charles R. (Sondra) Foster of Centerville; four daughters, Sara (Gary) Yock of Key, Brenda (Thomas) Lucas, Mary (Ernest) Grant, and Betty (Mark) Long of Centerville. Charles was blessed with 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; also surviving are three sisters, Audrey Christy of Sistersville, WV, Mary Jean Ramsay of Key and Helen Stonebraker of Centerville.
Friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home, Jacobsburg on Thursday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 p.m. where services will be held on Friday at 1:00 p.m. with Keith Kaczor officiating. Burial follows in Concord Cemetery, Centerville.
Smith Township Fire Dept. honors at 7:00 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
