Charles Edward "Chuck" Byers Sr., 91, of Barnesville, Ohio died February 13, 2022, at his home.

He was born March 18, 1930, in Stewartsville, Ohio, a son of the late Charles T. Byers and Mary Etta Early Byers.

Chuck was a retired employee of Alltel having served as an office supervisor in the Fairview office.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Lamp Byers and three sisters, Veda Nething, Rachel Norrick, and Helen Henry.

Charles is survived by his three sons, Eugene P. Byers and his wife, Kathryn J. Carenbauer Byers of Warwood, West Virginia, Kenneth J. Byers of Barnesville, and Charles E. Byers Jr. and his wife, Sherry L. Clark Byers of Flushing; a sister, Ruby Whitehair of Stewartsville; four grandchildren, Everett P. Byers, Olivia M. Byers, Melissa Shufelt and Candace D. Pazur; a great granddaughter, Alyx M. Moffitt; nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, Ohio on Wednesday from 1 p.m. until time of services at 2 p.m.  Private burial will be in Glencoe Cemetery.

Full Military Honors will be conducted by the Belmont County Veterans Association.
