Obituary

Rev. Charles Frederick Brewer, 77 of St. Clairsville, Ohio died Sunday, March 9, 2008 at the Valley Hospice Care Center in Steubenville.

He was born November 8, 1930 in Erie, Pennsylvania, a son of the late George S. Brewer and Katherine "Pat" Sternberg Brewer.

He was a retired Clergyman from the Shadyside Presbyterian Church, a member of First Presbyterian Church in St. Clairsville, a member of the church choir, the St. Clairsville Noon Rotary Club, and the OUE Choral Union.

Charley was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather, lover of music, boating, cars, Penn State Football, and many other hobbies. He loved learning new things and making and nurturing his many meaningful friendships.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, George R. Brewer.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Keller Brewer; a daughter, Margaret (John) Brewer Perrett of Ann Arbor, Michigan; two grandchildren, George and Madeline Perrett; a sister, Alice Nunn of Fountain Valley, California; a brother, Edward Brewer of Leonia, New Jersey.

Friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Wednesday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in St. Clairsville with Rev. Homer Harden officiating. Burial follows in Powhatan Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church in St. Clairsville or the Russell Scholarship Fund of the Upper Ohio Valley Presbytery.
