Michael Chad Maffe, 55, of St. Clairsville, Ohio, passed away on Monday, September 14, 2026, at his home. He was born October 7, 1970, in Wheeling, West Virginia, the son of the late Michael Edward and Bonnie Sue Fitch Maffe.

Chad was a dedicated coal miner for American Consolidated Natural Resources (ACNR) for the Marshall County Coal Mine in Cameron, West Virginia. He installed floors, was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan, watching every game. He loved his family, especially watching his grandson play baseball.

He is survived by his two daughters, Natalie J. (Alex Hibbitts) Maffe and Danielle (Zack) Barnes; three grandchildren, Jagger, Linkyn and Kennedy; Aunt Sheila “Gia” Maffe Zuzak; family friend, Brandon McGlothlin, and best friend, Jason (Misty) Teasdale.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday from 2 p.m. until time of funeral services at 4 p.m. at Toothman Funeral Home, St. Clairsville, with Bishop Michael Tolliver officiating. Final arrangements will be held at the convenience of the family.
