Cathy Lou Winzenreid, 71, of St. Clairsville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving husband and son.

She was born in Wheeling, West Virginia, on November 18, 1952, a daughter of the late Margaret Stary Zelic and Joseph Zelic.

Cathy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She was a retired clerk and meat wrapper from the Giant Eagle in Moundsville, West Virginia. She was a member of the Benwood United Methodist Church in McMechen, West Virginia.

Cathy is survived by her husband, Earl Virgil Winzenreid, Jr.; a son, Curt (Chelsee Helminski) Winzenreid; a grandson, Spencer Winzenreid; a granddaughter expected very soon; three sisters, Judy (Rick) Hyett, Mary (Jeff) Rasnick and Paula (Scott) LeMasters; two brothers, Michael (Bonnie) Zelic and Steve (Sherri) Zelic; a best friend, Janice Zelewicz; a cousin, Rosemary Price; and several nieces and nephews.

Honoring Cathy's wishes, there will be no public visitation or service. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are entrusted to the Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville.

Memorial donations are encouraged for the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
