Catherine Jane Ramsay, 77, of St. Clairsville, OH passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tues. Sept. 27, 2022, after a long battle with Parkinson's disease.  Catherine was born Feb. 12, 1945, to the late Wallace Boyd Ramsay and Wilda Mae (Abel) Ramsay.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant brother.

Surviving are her brother and sister Ray (Dana) Ramsay of Belmont, OH and Nancy (Jim deceased) Loy of Bethesda, OH; 2 nieces, Gail (Tom) Passmore, Robbin (Jim) Mitchell; a nephew Brad (Cyndi) Loy; 6 great nieces and nephews and 8 great-great nieces and nephews.

Catherine was a 1963 graduate of Union Local High School.  She began her career immediately after graduation with the Bellaire Community Hospital, where she continued working for over 50 years holding many titles, beginning with Secretary to the Nursing department and ending with the title of Assistant to the Hospital Administrator.  During her more than 50 years of service, Catherine assisted a total of 7 different Administrators.  Catherine also held the title of Director of Volunteers and was involved with many groups including the BCH Auxiliary, BCH Twig, and the Pilot Club of Bellaire until her retirement in 2014.

Catherine was very involved with the Alpha Pi Sigma Sorority Zeta Chapter of Bethesda, since 1972.  She held many offices over the years including the office of Supreme President in 2005-2006.  Catherine enjoyed all of her volunteer work including working at the I-70 "Safety Break" and working the Salvation Army Red Kettle Donation Drive at Christmas time.

Catherine was an active member of many groups and organizations, but her true love was sharing her Faith in Jesus Christ and being a loyal member of the Belmont United Methodist Church, where she performed the duties of Treasurer for 19 years.

According to family wishes a private service and interment was held on Oct. 1, 2022, at the Belmont Cemetery with Pastor Andrew Thompson officiating.

A Public Memorial Service will be held on Sat. Oct. 08, 2022, at the Belmont United Methodist Church, 129 W. Market Street, Belmont, OH.  Family and Friends will be received from 2:00 pm until time of Memorial Service beginning at 3:00 pm. Toothman Funeral Home of St. Clairsville, OH is assisting the family with all arrangements.
