Carl Edward Hudson, 78, of Glencoe died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2004 at Ohio Valley Medical Center in Wheeling.
He was born April 26, 1925 in Pultney Township, a son of the late Harry Hudson and Edna Pugh Hudson.
He was a retired coal miner from the Ohio Valley Coal Company at Alledonia, a member of the East Richland Evangelical Friends Church, a Navy veteran of World War II, member of Glencoe American Legion Post # 632, and St. Clair Lanes Senior Bowling League.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Nora Hudson; a sister, Evelyn LeMaster; a brother, Ernie Hudson.
Surviving are his wife Lillian "Lil" Saffell Stull Hudson; three sons, Harry Hudson of Neffs, Pat Hudson of Columbus, and Doug Hudson of Bellaire; two step daughters, Mary Gheen of Glencoe, and Helen Cole of Liberty Center, Ohio; six step sons, John and George McMahon of Glencoe, Douglas and Brian Stull of Sugar Grove, Ohio, Robert Stull of St. Clairsville, Dennis Stull of St. Joe; three brothers, Bill Hudson of Neffs, Mack Hudson of Beallsville, and Earl Hudson of Ky; two sisters, Sylvia Hawkins of Lakewood, Ca., and Mary Matthew of South Gate, Ca.; three grandchildren; eight step grandchildren, and seven step great grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. where services will be held on Tuesday at 1 p.m. with Reverend Wayne Ickes and Reverend Douglas Stull officiating. Burial follows in Jacobsburg Cemetery.
The Belmont County Council of American Legions will conduct services at 12:45 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
