Carl R. Givens, 70 of Key-Bellaire Rd., Bellaire died Tuesday October 19, 2004 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry.

He was born at Martins Ferry on January 3, 1934 a son of the late Ernest Givens and Alma Banfield Givens.

Carl was a retired employee of the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp., Martins Ferry Plant, a Navy veteran and a Protestant by faith.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jim and Everett Givens.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Howell Givens; his children, Michael (Maureen) Givens of Arizona; Brent Givens of Bellaire; Leigh Ann Lodi of Bellaire and Darin (Marcy) Givens of Hawaii; a sister Zella Mae Andrew of Michigan; grandchildren, Brandon Lodi and Teddie Givens; step grandchildren, Garrett and Jeanette.

Friends will be received on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Toothman Funeral Home, St. Clairsville where services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.
