BARTON, Carl Lewis, 79, of Jacobsburg, Ohio passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2012 in Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
He was born in Bellaire, Ohio on October 11, 1932, son of the late Alexander Buck Barton and Myrtle Alice Adams Barton.
Carl was a man of heart and loved nature just as much as he loved driving. He was a retired truck driver.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Sylvester and Edward Barton; two infant brothers; and three sisters, Faye Lorena Zonker, Glenna June Myers and Ella Brown.
Carl is survived by his devoted loving wife, Thelma F. Grant Barton; four daughters, Thelma Harclerode of Martins Ferry, Carla Rendon of Stockton, California, Rose Marie Barton of Martins Ferry and Diane Lynn McIntyre of Akron; two sons, Carl Alexander Barton of St. Clairsville and Joseph Edward Barton of Jacobsburg; two brothers, Elmer Barton of Rayland and Okie Thomas Barton of St. Clairsville; a sister, Jessie Mayhugh of Martins Ferry; 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday with a visitation from 3 p.m. until time of service at 4 p.m. at the Toothman Funeral Home in Jacobsburg with Pastor Jack Palmer officiating.
