Candis Ann Pubal, 75, of St. Clairsville, Ohio passed away on Monday, March 17, 2025, at her home. She was born March 25, 1949, in Wheeling, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Phillip Nicholas Stranges and Helen Louise Parrish Stranges.

Candis was a retired Registered Nurse at Wheeling Hospital. She was a Catholic by faith and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in St. Clairsville. She was a member of the Wheeling Hospital School of Nursing Alumni.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Frank Vincent Stranges and Gregory Joseph Stranges.

She is survived by her two children Lori Knight and Philip Pubal; three grandchildren, Zayne and Laken Knight, and Jace Pubal; and two sisters, Karen (Jochen) Obert and Jacklyn (Larry) Stanley.

Family and friends will be received at St. Mary's Catholic Church in St. Clairsville on Tuesday, from 9 a.m. until time of Funeral Liturgy with Mass at 10:30 a.m. with Father Thomas Chillog as celebrant. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Wheeling Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association, Therapists Beyond Borders, or an education fund to benefit her grandchildren.
