Obituary

Brent D. Walton, 76, of St. Clairsville, Ohio died Thursday, April 13, 2017 at his home surrounded by family. He was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio on November 30, 1940, son of the late Mildred Duncan Schramm and Harvey Schramm. Brent was a radio personality for over 25 years for several local stations and then worked in the auto industry for many years before retiring from Whiteside's in St. Clairsville. He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, as well as Pickerington Central High and Capital University where he proudly watched his grandson play football and lacrosse and his granddaughter play lacrosse. Brent was well known by all on the St. C. Bike Trail, especially by the all the dogs that received treats from him. He also loved to spoil his dog Pande and all of his grandpuppies. Surviving are his best friend and soulmate, his wife of 50 years, Sue Ann Howells Walton; a son, Brian (Missy) Walton of Pickerington, Ohio; a daughter, Melissa (Eric) Hamilton of Columbus, Ohio; two grandchildren, his namesake, Brent Walton and Kathryn Walton; a daughter and son, Beth and Bob Walton and their families. Family and friends will be received on Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, where services will be held on Tuesday at 1 p.m. with Rev. Margie Carr officiating. Entombment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling, WV. Memorial contributions may be made to the Belmont County Animal Shelter.
