Boneva "Bunny" Johnson, 76, of St. Clairsville, Ohio, died July 28, 2022, at OSU Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.

She was born February 28, 1946, in Hazel Green, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Andrew J. and Hazel E. Cornell Waggoner.

Bunny has provided childcare for many years and many families over the years and was a graduate of Ohio Valley General Hospital School of Nursing in 1967. She was a member of Thoburn United Methodist Church where she was active in the United Methodist Women and Mary Reed Circle.  She was also President at the St. Clairsville Senior Center.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Johnson in 1997; a brother-in-law, Charles Phillips; and three great-grandchildren Carter Patrick Howard, Jaxson Carter Howard and Baby H.

Bunny is survived by her two children, James H. (Beth) Johnson of Columbus and Tina M. Johansen (Brandon Marlett) of Worthington; a brother, Willie (Mary) Waggoner of Belleview, Florida; a sister, Laura Phillips of Belleview, Florida; five grandchildren, Andy (Jessica), Alex and Abby Johnson, Kali Kotterman (Ryan Howard) and Sara Johansen; one great-grandson, Ayden Hayes Howard; a niece and three nephews.

Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.

Visitation will again be held at Thoburn United Methodist Church on Friday from 9 a.m. until time of service at 10 a.m. with Pastors Andy Johnson and William Wendell officiating. Burial will follow at Longview Cemetery in New Athens.
