Obituary
Betty Jane Tipton, 93, of St. Clairsville, Ohio, died Thursday, August 25, 2016 at Forest Hill Nursing Home.
She was born January 4, 1923 in Woodsfield, Ohio, a daughter of the late Pearl Howell.
Betty was a homemaker and a member of Thoburn United Methodist Church.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Tipton; and two sisters, Shirley Milhoan and Beverly Pittman.
Surviving are her two sons, Richard "Dick" (Penny) Tipton of Bridgeport, Ohio and John Alan (Carrie) Tipton of Hilton Head, South Carolina; a sister, Harriet Perkins of Beallsville, Ohio; two grandchildren, Jason Tipton of Athens, Ohio and Melissa (Jim) Dombeck of Burgholz, Ohio; three great grandchildren, Joshua, Xavier John Alan and Katana Rose; nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. with Rev. Kenneth Gifford and Rev. Adam Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Clairsville Stadium Fund, C/O: Saints Club, P.O. Box 202, St. Clairsville, OH 43950.
