Betty L. Sheets, 82, of Moundsville, WV died Thursday, December 16, 2021, at Reynolds Memorial Hospital.

She was born October 13, 1939, in Jacobsburg, Ohio, a daughter of the late French and Lucy (Bennett) May.

Betty enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, sewing, and traveling. She also enjoyed going to church at Church Alive, where she was a member for 20 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Alan Saffell; a grandson, Jason Smith; three brothers, Albert May, Herbert May and Joseph May; four sisters, Edna Palmer, Bertha Palmer, Myrtle Palmer and Helen Powell.

Surviving are her four children, Ellen F. (Arnold) Smith of Cleveland, Texas, Kathy J. (Larry) Miller of Cleveland, Texas, Thurman W. (Lisa) Saffell of Ridgeland, South Carolina, and Shari L. (Joe) Mills of Powhatan Point, Ohio; two brothers, William May and Arthur May; a sister, Ethel Bier; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received at Church Alive, Key Ridge, Bellaire, Ohio on Monday from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. where services will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. with Pastor Jeff Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in Armstrong Cemetery, Armstrongs Mills, Ohio.
