Betty Ann West Ramsay, 62 of Pipe Creek, Bellaire, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on October 8, 2014 at Liza's Place.
She was born September 11, 1952 in Martins Ferry, Ohio, daughter of the late Rayford A. West Sr. and Katherine J. Kuntz West.
Betty was a self-employed cosmetologist. She was a member of the Lincoln Avenue United Methodist Church in Shadyside where she was a Sunday School Teacher and small group Bible Study Leader; a 1970 graduate of Bellaire High School and a 1972 graduate of Steubenville School of Cosmetology; she was a board member of the Belmont County Committee of Lay Servant Ministries; a Certified Lay Speaking Servant for UMC; a former Education Specialist of Belmont County Litter Control-N-Recycling Dept.; past camp director for Black Diamond Girl Scout Council; former instructor of Hunter Safety Education for Belmont County.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Fredrick and Matilda Kuntz and paternal grandparents, George and Alta West; a daughter, Alta Renee Ramsay; former husband, James "Tiny" Ramsay.
Surviving are her daughter, Samala Jane (Allen) Lutman; a brother, Rayford West Jr.; a sister, Kendra (Tom) Yingling; 5 grandchildren, Mark (Denise) Lutman, Jennifer (Mike) Rednour, Ramsay (Breanna) Dunn, Abagail Lutman and Blake Elizabeth Lutman; 7 great grandchildren, Katherine Kueker, Courtney Kueker. Trevor Lutman, Connor Lutman, Kayleigh Rednour, Ethan Rednour and Mariah Rednour; her best friend of 47 years, Pamela Budravich Gongola.
Friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of Memorial Service at 11 a.m. at Lincoln Avenue United Methodist Church in Shadyside, Ohio. Arrangements are entrusted to Toothman Funeral Home in Jacobsburg.
