Betty Ruth Christy, 78 of St. Clairsville died Thursday, October 7, 2004 at Forest Hill Nursing Home in St. Clairsville.

She was born September 4, 1926 in St. Clairsville, a daughter of the late Alley Ankrom and Eula VanHorne Ankrom.

Betty was a retired employee of the J.B. Martin Recreation Center in St. Clairsville and a Methodist.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Arthur Christy; a daughter, Rebecca Sue Moodispaw; a son, Mark Allen Christy; two sisters, Lela Messerly and Jean Schrum; two brothers, Robert and William Ankrom.

Surviving are two daughters, Terri Jaeger and Barbara Houston of St. Clairsville; a son, William Moodispaw of Weston, WV.; 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Friday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. until time of service at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Kim Anderson officiating. Burial follows in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross for local flood relief.
