Betty Ann Carter, 89, of St. Clairsville, Ohio passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Sunday, September 27, 2026. She was born April 5, 1937 in Bannock, Ohio, a daughter of the late John and Anna Tonkovich Balint.

Betty retired from the former Fashon Bug Store in the Ohio Valley Mall and was a Catholic by faith. She enjoyed crocheting and playing bingo.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald “Jerry” Carter in 1984; two sisters, Ilene Balint and Mary Ann Ciolczyk; a grandson, Kyle Carter.

Surviving are her children, John Carter of St. Clairsville, Jerry (Paula) Carter of Belmont, Ohio and Brenda Carter of St. Clairsville; a sister, Jean (Ron) Prince of Freeport, Ohio; five grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday from 10 am until time of funeral services at 1 pm with Fr. Thomas Chillog officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio.
