Betty Mae Schrecengost Boyer, 81 of St. Clairsville, Ohio formerly of Rural Valley, Pennsylvania passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at East Ohio Regional Hospital in Martins Ferry, Ohio.

She was born February 3, 1928 in Rural Valley, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Harold and Lucile Hawkins Schrecengost.

Betty was a devoted minister?s wife, wonderful mother, mother-in-law, and grammy. She was most recently a member of Thoburn United Methodist Church in St. Clairsville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step mother, Velma Schrecengost, and a step brother, Sonny Schrecengost.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Rev. William A. Boyer; son, Wil and wife Tara of Belmont, Ohio; daughter, Mary and her husband Dean Allman of Key Largo, Florida; son, Tim and his wife JoEllen of Eldersburg, Maryland; daughter Barb of Canton, Ohio. Betty was very proud of her six grandsons, Chad and Todd Boyer, Josh (Rae) and Brett Allman, Jeremy and Zach Boyer. Also surviving are her brothers, Bud Schrecengost of Dayton, Pennsylvania and Jack Schrecengost of Wauconda, Illinois.

Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, Ohio on Friday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m. Friends may also call on Saturday at Thoburn United Methodist Church from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Bradley Call officiating. Burial will follow in Belmont County Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Clairsville.
