Obituary

Bertha Palmer, 83 of Clover Ridge Rd., Jacobsburg died Thursday, July 10, 2003 at her home. She was born February 5, 1920 in Jacobsburg a daughter of the late William French May and Lucy Bennett May.

She was a homemaker, mother and member of the Grandview Christian Church on Clover Ridge.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Edward Palmer; a daughter, Helen Irene Boyles; and a sister, Edna Palmer.

Surviving are two sons, William Edward "Sonny" Palmer and his wife Audrey and Gary Ray Palmer and his wife Risa both of Jacobsburg; a daughter, Sandra Kay Johnson and her husband Jim of Jacobsburg; five brothers, Albert May and Arthur R. "Huck" May both of Powhatan Point; Herbert F. May of Shadyside, Joseph E. May of Clarington, and William E. May of Florida; four sisters, Myrtle Palmer and Helen Powell both of Jacobsburg, Ethel Bier of Clarington, and Betty Lou Sheets of St.Clairsville; 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and 9 great great grandchildren;

Friends will be received on Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m. and on Sunday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 9 p.m. at the Toothman Funeral Home in Jacobsburg where services will be held on Monday, July 14, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. with Ministers Richard Baumberger and Wayne Clark officiating. Burial follows in Powhatan Cemetery.
