Bernardine R. Sykes, 64 of Morristown, Ohio died Tuesday, November 2, 2004 at her home. She was born September 1, 1940 in Belmont County, daughter of the late Fred and Wilda Hudak.
She was a member of St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Lafferty and the Catholic Women?s Club.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Michael Scott Sykes; a brother, Frank Hudak; a sister, Gertrude Kiss; and a grandson, David Michael Wilson II.
Surviving are her husband, Richard A. Sykes, Sr.; six children, Richard A. Sykes, Jr. of Lafferty, Barbara J. Stewart of Flushing, Roger A. Sykes of Bethesda, Brian S. Sykes of Quaker City, Rebecca L. Templeton of Wheeling and Melissa J. Sykes of Morristown; 11 grandchildren; a great granddaughter; two sisters, Elizabeth Snedeker and Mary Bowser of St. Clairsville; six brothers, Fred Hudak of Crystal River, Fl., John "Dan" Hudock of St. Clairsville, Stephen Hudak of Toledo, Michael Hudak of Brunswick, Ohio, Anthony Hudak of Lafferty, and Edward Hudak of Bethesda.
Friends will be received on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Toothman Funeral home in St.Clairsville. A Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Lafferty with Father Chester Pabin the celebrant. Burial follows in Belmont County Memorial Park, St. Clairsville.
There will be a vigil service at 8:30 p.m. Friday in the funeral home
