Bernard Lloyd Brandon Jr., 66, of Jacobsburg, Ohio died August 13, 2017 in Belmont Community Hospital, Bellaire. He was born August 7, 1951 in Bellaire, Ohio, a son of the late Bernard and Norma Meister Brandon. Bernie was a family man and a wonderful husband and father. He loved animals, especially his dog Levi. Also, he enjoyed fishing, playing guitar, playing pool, working on his home, going to the Amish Country and gardening. Bernie and Patty met in 1970 and were married on September 22, 1973. Eight years later their son Jason was born March 20, 1981 and he was the joy of their lives. Bernie worked for the Department of Jobs and Family Services as an Adult Protective Services Caseworker. He previously worked for North American Coal Company. He was a Catholic by faith and attended St. John's Catholic Church. He was deeply loved and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Surviving are his loving wife of 43 years, Patty Travis Brandon; his son, Jason Brandon and his wife Angie; and a sister, Jan (Rick) Smith. Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., where services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. with Father Dan Heusel officiating. Burial will follow in Warnock Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
