Benjamin Earl "Ben" Otto, 86, of Stow, Ohio, formerly of Pipe Creek, died November 29, 2019 in Sunrise of Cuyahoga Falls.
He was born August 15, 1933 in Jacobsburg, Ohio, son of the late Harry Stoffer Otto and Josephine Kovar Otto.
Ben served his country in the US Army. He was a retired press operator from Phillips Stamping in Bellaire, he delivered the Green Tab to businesses all over Belmont county every Saturday for more than 20 years and along with his wife operated Valley Greenhouse on Pipe Creek for many years. Ben was a 50 Year Member and Past Master of the Weyer Lodge #541 F. & A.M. in Centerville, Ohio and a member of the Farm Bureau. He also learned to play the mandolin and banjo in his 60's and won several contests for his playing at the Barnesville Pumpkin Festival.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nona "Joyce" Crow Otto; four brothers, Robert, Richard, William, and Harry Otto; and a sister, Joann Heatherington.
Surviving are his children, Theresa (David) Wallace and David Otto; a brother, Paul Otto; and grandchildren, Matthew and Nicholas Wallace.
Private services were held at the Powhatan Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Toothman Funeral Home.
