Benjamin "Ben" David Goldberg, 65 of St. Clairsville, Ohio died Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.
He was born December 14, 1949 in Beckley, WV., a son of the late Charles Morley Goldberg and Alice Louise (Norman) Goldberg.
Ben spent the majority of his life in and around the Wheeling, WV area. He lived to help others so it only made sense that he went on to become a doctor. He later moved to Florida where he honed his fishing and scuba diving skills. Ben next set his sights on the wide open skies and quickly earned his pilot license. Eventually he moved back home to the valley and reunited with his "high school sweetheart" Sandy. They married and never again parted. Benji was a devoted husband and the best "pap pap" any grandchild could ever ask for. He was a loving, thoughtful, and kind hearted man who will be missed by all those fortunate enough to have made his acquaintance.
In addition to being a retired physician, he was also a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and a member of the American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his adoptive mother, Dorothy Goldberg.
Surviving are his wife, Sandy Fulton Goldberg; a stepson, Rob (Danielle) Dorsey of Carroll, Ohio; two sisters, Linda Moore of Fairmont, WV., and Carol (Tom) Gribble of Parkersburg, WV; a grandson, Lil' Rob Dorsey.
Friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m.
