Obituary
Beatrice Kathryn Mead, 88, of Belmont, died Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at Astoria Health Care Center, Barnesville, Ohio.
She was born August 22, 1927 near Bethesda, Ohio, a daughter of the late John Jessee and Hannah Jarrett Jessee.
Bea was retired from the OSU Extension Office. She enjoyed attending and setting up shop at flea markets.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marman Arthur Mead; a son, M. Anson Mead; and a grandson, Joshua Mead.
Surviving are her three sons, M. Alan Mead, M. Arthur Mead and Mike Mead all of Belmont; a daughter, M. A. "Doll" (Apple) Applegarth of Belmont; Herm Schmitt whom Bea loved like a son; a sister, Phyllis Lucas of Indiana; five grandchildren, Michael (Chantel) Mead, Melissa Mead, Dr. Amanda (Lance) Fisher, Dylan Applegarth and Todd Taylor; and several great grandchildren.
Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, Ohio on Saturday from 11 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in Belmont Cemetery.
