Barry Paul Griffiths, 73 of St. Clairsville, Ohio died Monday, August 24, 2015 at Liza's Place in Wheeling, WV.

He was born November 16, 1941 in Wheeling, a son of the late Burr Clinton Griffiths, Sr. and Dorothy Gail Lewis Griffiths.

Barry was a retired auditor for the U.S. Government's General Accounting Office in Washington, DC, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, and member of American Legion Post 159 in St. Clairsville.

He was an avid golfer, a Steeler's fan, and a proud Marine. He dearly loved his grandchildren and his pets.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Burr Clinton Griffiths, Jr.

Surviving are his wife, Carol Lynn Gates Griffiths; three children, Kenneth Paul (Danielle) Griffiths of Shadyside, Kelly Lynn (James) Thrift of Owings, MD, and Tracy Leigh Cantrell of California, MD; five grandchildren, Kayla, Nicholas, Marina, Bailey, and Jennifer.

Friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 29th.

Belmont County Council of American Legions will provide full military honors at 1 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home.

Inurnment will be held at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery.
