Barbara E. Giffin, 92 of Bridgeport, Ohio entered into eternal life on Thursday, January 7, 2016.

Barbara was born November 7, 1923 in West Wheeling, Ohio, the daughter of Emil and Alberta Riedel. She was married on June 30, 1943 to Daniel A. Giffin who passed away on May 7, 2007. She is survived by two sons, David R. Giffin (Diane) of Bay Harbor, Michigan, and Dale R. Giffin (Kathrine) of Willoughby Hills, Ohio; six grandchildren, Allison, Gayle, Charles, Robert, Emiley, and Ryan; and 11 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a son, Donald A. Giffin in 1966.

Barbara lived a life of service. She enjoyed caring for her family and being involved in her Church, Trinity Lutheran Church in Bridgeport, Ohio, where she was a lifelong member. Her service extended beyond the local parish as Barbara served two terms as the president of the Ohio Lutheran Church Women, and two terms on the Board of Directors of Trinity Lutheran Seminary in Columbus Ohio, including one term as chairperson of the board. She also was active in the Bridgeport Christian Friendship Council and the Philanthropic Educational Organization.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2016, at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, Ohio. Calling hours will begin at 10:00 a.m. and interment at the Union Cemetery in St. Clairsville will immediately follow the service.
