Parsons, Auvil Sr., 84, of Uniontown, Ohio died Thursday, November 1, 2007 at Park Health Center.

He was born January 16, 1923 in Kentuck, West Virginia, son of the late Peter and Maggie Hunt Parsons.

Auvil was a retired lineman from South Central Power. He was a member of St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Lafferty. He was a World War II U. S. Army veteran and a member of the St. Clairsville Lions Club.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Leslie, Wilmer and Sherm Parsons.

Surviving are his wife, Helen M. Brown Parsons; three sons, Auvil (Sharon) Parsons Jr. of St. Clairsville, Gary Parsons of Adena, and Randy (Laura) Parsons of Virginia Beach, Virginia; 5 grandchildren, Shayna Parsons, Scott Parsons, Josh Parsons, Auvil Parsons III and Beth Tomason; three great grandchildren, Arden, Noah and Evan; five sisters, Dollie Mooney, Grace Caldwell, Verbie Waugh, Tunnie Clary and Naomi Whitt; several nieces and nephews.

Private services were held at the Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville with Father Frederick Kihm officiating. Burial was in Union Cemetery in St. Clairsville.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Lafferty.
