Obituary

Call, Arthur L., 74, of Asco, West Virginia, died Feb. 1, 2009 at Lewis-Gale Medical Center in Salem, Virginia after a long illness. He was born November 8, 1934 in Asco, West Virginia, son of the late Alva Call Sr. and Emma Mitchell Call of Powhatan Point.

Arthur was a retired Master Sergeant from the United States Air Force; veteran of the Korean War and Vietnam War and a member of the Asco Community Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Alva Call Jr. and Charles David Call of Bridgeport; and a sister, Martha Ann Saffell of Shadyside.

Surviving are his wife, Rose Call of Tacoma, Washington; 2 daughters, Leatha Ann Call of Anchorage, Alaska, Elizabeth Savage Mason of Tacoma, Washington; a son, Richard Allen Call of Kennesaw, Georgia; 4 brothers, Albert Call of Newark, Ohio, Theodore Call and Cecil Call both of Powhatan Point, Ohio and Ray Call of Bellaire, Ohio and a sister, Letha Mae Penyak of Powhatan Point.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family with burial in Powhatan Cemetery. Full Military Honors will be conducted by the Powhatan American Legion and VFW posts. Arrangements handled by Toothman Funeral Home.
