Helms, Arnold Lee, 84 of Lloydsville-Bannock Rd., formerly of Jacobsburg, Ohio died Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Belmont Community Hospital in Bellaire.

He was born October 8, 1929 in Neffs, Ohio, a son of the late Paul Helms and Mary Bennington Helms.

Arnold was a retired building contractor and farmer, a U.S. Army veteran, and Christian.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Bell.

Surviving are his loving wife of 62 years, Clara Davis Helms; four children, Diana (James) Wells of Shadyside, Denise (John) Wright of Wheeling, Sharon (Rick) Ackerman of Martins Ferry, and Dennis (Joyce) Helms of Lloydsville-Bannock Rd.; brothers, Paul Helms of Belmont and Larry Helms of Clarksburg, Ohio; a sister, Dorothy DeLong of Adena; five grandchildren, Kellee Blon, Suzann Wright, Lee Ackerman, Jarret Helms, and Jamilyn Helms; several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.

Friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Sunday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m. where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday with Pastor Larry Helms officiating.

Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove.
