Arlene C. Garczyk, 72, formerly of Maynard, Ohio died March 18, 2017 in Cumberland Pointe Care Center.
She was born January 27, 1945 in Wheeling, West Virginia a daughter of the late Casmer G. and Veronica Figura Garczyk.
Arlene was a retired employee from Wheeling Hospital. She was a 1962 graduate of St. John's High School in Bellaire. She served in
Sisters of Charity Convent for eight years in Nazareth, Kentucky. Arlene was an extraordinary woman, who had a passion for nature and loved doing any activity that involved the outdoors. A one of a kind sister and aunt, she was known for her kindness and love for people, always lending a helping hand to anyone in need, joking and her ornery smile. Memories of her are precious, she will always be loved, missed, and in our hearts forever, until we meet again…
In addition to her parents, Arlene was preceded in death by her brother, William "Bill" Garczyk and brother-in-law, Wally Zielinski.
Surviving are her two sisters, Dorothy Stock and Sandy Zielinski both of St. Clairsville; a nephew, Monte Zielinski; niece, Nancy Zielinski; great nieces, Brittani and Zoie Zielinski.
At Arlene's request, there will be no visitation. A memorial service in honor of her life will be held at Toothman Funeral Home, St. Clairsville on Thursday at 1 p.m. with Father Edward Maxfield officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery.
