OBOY, Anthony "Tony" "Yantek", 79 of Maynard, Ohio died Monday, September 26, 2011 at Liza's Place in Wheeling.
He was born May 4, 1932 in Maynard, a son of the late Walter Oboy and Sophie Vicker Oboy.
Tony was a retired employee of Oglebay Norton's Saginaw Mine in St. Clairsville, a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Maynard, Polish National Alliance, Fairpoint Polish Club, and Upper Ohio Valley Hogs Motorcycle Club.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Yudasz, Geneva Piwkowski, and Ann Luginskie; also preceded by a dear friend and companion, Betty Zamski.
Surviving are three sisters, Irene (Steve) Balog of Canton, Ohio, Stella Zavacky of St. Clairsville, and Olga (Jim) Lukacsko of Fairpoint; three brothers, John (Jean) Oboy and Joseph Oboy of Maynard, and Edward (Ellen) Oboy of Bellaire.
Friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Thursday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m.
A Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Maynard with Father Thomas Graven the celebrant.
A vigil service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
