Annie Darrah Rosen, age 88, formerly of Powhatan Point, Ohio, died Saturday, August 28, 2004 at the Woodsfield Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Woodsfield, Ohio. She was born May 14, 1916 at Crescent, Ohio, daughter of the late Pomeroy and Addelia Bruce Nelson.

She was a former employee at the Company Store for North American Coal Company # 1 Mine at Powhatan Point and a member of the Amity United Methodist Church at Steinersville, Ohio.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Darrah; four sisters, Mabel Jennewein, Lula Keene, Mildred Townson, and Ellen Vostatek; and three brothers, Willard Nelson, Clyde Nelson and Albert Nelson.

Surviving are her daughter, Priscilla Jeffers and her husband Joe of Jacobsburg; a son, Austin Darrah of Powhatan Point; a sister, Edna Ramsey of Powhatan Point; and two grandchildren, Carri Darrah and Casey Darrah.

Family and friends will be received on Monday from 2 to 8 p.m. at Toothman Funeral Home in Jacobsburg, where services will be held on Tuesday, August 31, 2004 at 11 a.m., with Pastor Lorna Knight officiating. Burial will follow at Powhatan Cemetery, Powhatan Point, Ohio.
