Obituary

Holub, Anne M., 86, of Glencoe, died Monday, April 20, 2009 at Ohio Valley Medical Center in Wheeling.

Anne was born in Stewartsville, Ohio on April 1, 1923, daughter of the late Louis J. and Anna Surovec.

Anne was a homemaker; she and her husband owned and operated Holub?s Greenhouse in Glencoe for many years; she was a veteran of World War II serving as a Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps; she was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Neffs.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Frederick Michael Holub Sr.; two brothers, Victor and Andrew Surovec; and a sister, Frances Evelock.

Surviving are her children, Joyce (Richard) Henning of Wheeling, Kathleen (William) Gibeaut of Morristown, Mary Ellen (Keith) Davis of Circleville, Ohio, Susan (Paul) Calovini of Evansville, Indiana, Frederick Michael (Tina) Holub Jr. of St. Clairsville and Richard (Sandra) Holub of St. Francisville, Louisiana; a brother, Joseph Surovec of New Athens, Ohio; a sister, Helen Brandon of Glencoe; 13 grandchildren, Richard, Danny and Emily Henning, John and Sarah Gibeaut, James and David Davis, Fred III and Alexandra Holub, Ashleigh, Lindsey, Aaron and Camryn Holub; and 7 great grandchildren.

Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. with a vigil service to be held at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church in Neffs on Thursday at 10 a.m. with Monsignor Gene Mullett as celebrant. Burial will follow in Glencoe Cemetery.

Full Military Honor Services will be provided by the Belmont County Council of American Legions on Wednesday at 3:45 p.m. in the funeral home.
