Andrew Peter Kurucz, 90, of St. Clairsville, died Sunday, October 1, 2017 in East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry.
He was born November 22, 1926 in Adena, Ohio a son of the late John and Mary Patsey Kurucz.
Andy was retired from Y. & O. Coal # 1 Mine in Cadiz. He was a U.S. Army Paratrooper and Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church in St. Clairsville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Andrew Joseph and Michael Lee Kurucz; two brothers, John and Robert Kurucz; and four sisters, Margaret Schmid, Elizabeth Staso, Dorothy Thomas and Mary Socha.
Surviving are his loving wife, Charlotte Roberta McMahon Kurucz; five children, Tina (Fred) Holub of St. Clairsville, Diana Dillon of St. Clairsville, Ruth Biggerstaff of Follansbee, WV, David (Susan) Kurucz of St. Clairsville and Kevin Kurucz of St. Clairsville; a sister, Erma Sawko of Adena; seven grandchildren, Fred Michael Holub, Alexandra Holub, Ryan Dillon, Justin Dillon, Andy Handley, Robert Biggerstaff and Danny Biggerstaff; three great grandchildren, Jacek Handley, Carter Biggerstaff and Kylee Dillon.
Friends and family will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. until time of services at 7:45 p.m. with Pastor Rodney Hubbs officiating.
Full Military Honors will be conducted by the Belmont County Veterans Association in the funeral home on Wednesday at 7:45 p.m.
