Alverda H. Pathorski, age 85, of Midway, OH died Friday, November 7, 2003 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry. She was born March 15, 1918 at Midway, daughter of the late Jesse and Leona Jones Pickering.

She was a retired employee from Azallion?s Department Store and the Farm Fresh Food Market both at St. Clairsville and was an Avon sales representative for many years; she was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church at St. Clairsville; a member of the Presbyterian Women and she was a former 4-H leader.

In addition to her parents, Alverda was preceded in death by her husband, Paul H. Pathorski; a daughter, Betty Donley; two great granddaughters, Megan and Melissa; and an infant sister, Velma Pickering.

Surviving are a son, Gary Pathorski and his wife Rose Mary of St. Clairsville and their daughter, Christine; a daughter, Joyce Haught Telfer of St. Clairsville and her daughter Sue Ellen Black and her son, Michael Haught; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. where services will be held on Monday, November 10, 2003 at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Laurie Armstrong officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio.
