Althea S. Eddy, 89 of Moundsville formerly of Flushing died Saturday, February 23, 2008 at Wheeling Hospital.
She was born February 24, 1918 in Flushing, a daughter of the late Francis Hollingsworth and Aretha Gilmore Hollingsworth.
Althea was former owner and operator of Dave?s Restaurant in Flushing, and former employee of Binn?s Grocery Store, Hillandale Egg Plant, Hillview Nursing Home, and a member of the Flushing Alliance Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Eddy; brothers, William and David Hollingsworth; a sister, Mary Shannon.
Surviving are two sons, James (Carol) Jordan of Moundsville and Robert (Lois) Eddy of Syracuse, New York; six grandchildren, Jason (Shannon) Jordan, Tricia (Chris) Pino, Faith (Pratik) Chanda, Emily (R.J.) Berger, Jared Jordan, Justin Jordan; great grandchildren, Jonah and Hannah Jordan.
Friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the Flushing Alliance Church with Pastor Jack McKimmie officiating. Burial follows in Rock Hill Cemetery, Flushing.
