Alice Louise Mercer, 72, of Holloway, Ohio died Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Belmont Manor Nursing Home in St. Clairsville.
She was born March 2, 1945 in Wheeling, WV, a daughter of the late John William Hollingsworth and Helen Louise Jordan Hollingsworth.
Alice was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed Bingo and spending time with family and friends. She was a member of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Flushing.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Carmel Mercer, Sr.; a brother, William Keith Hollingsworth.
Surviving are her three children, P.J. Mercer of Cadiz, Denise (Dave) Gray of Bethesda, and Brian (Mary) Mercer of Calais; six grandchildren, Paul Mercer III, Donald William Mercer, Nicholas Gray, Jacob Gray, Allison Gray, and Dakota Mercer; a great grandson, Brody Mercer; a sister, Doris Attinger; a sister-in-law, Connie Hollingsworth; nieces and nephews; and dear friend and neighbor, David Davis.
Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Dean Lancaster officiating. Burial will follow in Rock Hill Cemetery, Flushing, Ohio.
