Obituary

Alice Mae Kumpost, 89, of Bethesda, Ohio, died on Monday, April 28, 2025, in Emerald Pointe Care Center in Barnesville.

She was born in Wilber, Nebraska, on March 8, 1936, a daughter of the late Adolph Zach and Anna Pivonka Zach.

Alice was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Her faith in her Lord and Savior was very strong, as a member of the Evangelical United Lutheran Church in Lincoln, Nebraska, she served in the Altar Guild and taught Sunday School. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the PTO. Alice loved her flower garden and yardwork, but most importantly serving Jesus Christ.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Kumpost; stepmothers, Helen and Rose; four sisters, Laverne Slepicka, Evelyn Slepicka, Rose Ann Sykes and Irma Plachy; and a brother, Milo Kubicek.

Alice is survived by her two daughters, Kerri (Ronnie) Berry and Kristi Kumpost; a brother, Allen (Betty) Zach; three grandchildren, Kaeli (Wesley) Pickens, Alyssa (Ty) Russell and Sydney Phillips; a great grandchild, Braylin Pickens; and several nieces and nephews.

Honoring Alice's wishes, there will be no visitation locally. There will be a memorial graveside service on May 20th at 10 a.m. at the Lincoln Memorial Cemetery Gate 3 Chapel in Lincoln, Nebraska. Arrangements have been entrusted to Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville.

Memorial donations may be made to the family for Alzheimer's research  or any Animal Shelter.
