Obituary

ANTOLAK, Alan Joseph Sr., 68, formerly of St. Clairsville, Ohio; went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 3, 2013, surrounded by his family at this daughter's home in Canyon Country, California.

He was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio on March 13, 1945. The son of the late Alex and Sophia (Yudasz) Antolak.

He was a lifetime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in St. Clairsville. Alan served in the Army in Vietnam. He was retired from AEP- Cardinal Plant, as a Boat Captain and Heavy Equipment Operator. Alan and Donna were former owners of Bud's Bloomers Flower Shop and Rosario's Religious Gifts. His two passions in life were playing his fiddle in a Polka Band and Bowling. He was a member of the Royal Knights Band, The Harmony Brothers Band and the Yudasz Family Band. He was a long time member of the St. Clair Lanes Bowling Team. He also belonged to the VFW Post #8848 in Colerain.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his Father in Law and Mother in Law, George and Rosemary Choma.

He is survived by his wife, Donna, son Alan (Michele) Antolak, Jr., Daughters, Alana (Steven) Monroe and Alyssa Antolak, Granddaughter, Zoe Mae Monroe, three brothers, James (Monica) Antolak, Edward Antolak, Alex Paul (Tammy) Antolak and one sister, Diane (Richard) Mazgaj, nieces and nephews, four aunts, Betty Holubeck, Ann Kogut, Edith Antolak and Mary Rose Yudasz; and many many cousins.

Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, on Sunday, September 8, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. A Vigil Prayer Service will be held at 4pm.

Full Military Honors will be provided by the Belmont County VFW Honor Guard on Monday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home.

A Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, September 9, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in St. Clairsville, with Fr. Thomas Chillog, celebrant. Interment at Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.

Memorial contributions may be made to Sarah Czapp (for her medical expenses), The Infant of Prague Society in Martins Ferry, Ohio, or St. Mary's Catholic Church in St. Clairsville, Ohio.
