Gwendolyn Ada Kanopsic, 100, of St. Clairsville, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at her home. Ada was born June 22, 1924, in St. Clairsville, a daughter of the late Guy and Lucy Gwendolyn Williams Yates.
Ada was a retired rural mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service and a member of Thoburn United Methodist Church. Ada was a former member of AARP and Ohio Valley Promenaders.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Kanopsic in 2000; a son, Frank Robert "Bob" Kanopsic; brothers, Guy and Arthur Yates.
Surviving are her daughter, Linda (Jim) Garczyk of Maynard, Ohio; a daughter-in-law, Della Maxwell; four grandchildren, Cindy Cervelli, Stacey Beck, Anita Kanopsic, Bob (Tish) Kanopsic; six great grandchildren, Ryan Cervelli, Matthew Cervelli, DJ (Tiffany) Beck, Nicole Beck, Michael Kanopsic, Samara Kanopsic; three great great grandchildren, Brycen Beck, Ethan Beck, Brookelynne Beck.
Private funeral services held on Saturday at Toothman Funeral Home, St. Clairsville with Rev. Jeffrey Croft officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.
