KATHRYN ABATE Kayla
Kathryn Abate, 19 month old daughter of Theresa Reese and Tim Abate, died
Saturday, July 23, 2005 at Monongahela Valley Hospital in Pennsylvania. She
was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio on December 25, 2003. Surviving
are her parents, Theresa Reese and Tim Abate; two sisters, Haily Reese and
Jessie Abate; two brothers, Jerry Abate and Timmy Abate; grandparents,
Kathryn Reese of Shadyside, Jerry Abate of Benwood and Kay Rice of
Bridgeport; special family, Denny and Tara Doggett of Charleroi,
Pennsylvania. Family and friends will be received at the Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., where services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Glencoe Cemetery.
STANLEY J. ANTOLAK Sr. Stanley J. Antolak Sr., age 91, of St. Clairsville, died Sunday, January 23, 2005 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry. He was born on April 4, 1913 at Fairpoint, Ohio, son of the late Toefil and Mary Bohoncik Antolak. Stanley was retired from Consolidation Coal Company and co-owner of Barton Septic Service. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in St. Clairsville and a member of the Knights of Columbus. In addition to his parents, Stanley was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Frances L. Yudasz Antolak; a sister, Rose Jurkowski; eight brothers, Jack, Andy, Albert, Alex, George, Sylvester, Frank and Joe Antolak. Surviving are four daughters, Clara (Joe) Pagot and Christine (Pete) Stazenski all of St. Clairsville, Linda (Gary) Cline and Margaret (Jerry) Taylor all of Columbus; two sons, Stanley J. (Sissy) Antolak Jr. and Richard (Jill) Antolak all of St. Clairsville; a sister, Anna Kogut of Martins Ferry; fourteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday 2 to 9 p.m. at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville with a vigil service at 7 p.m. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Clairsville on Wednesday at 10 a.m. with Father Christopher Foxhoven the celebrant. APPLEGARTH Wayne
F. Applegarth,
passed away March 29, 2005, at OSU Medical Center surrounded by his
family. He
was born in 1937 in Maynard, Ohio, son of
the late David and Beatrice Smith Applegarth. Wayne
is survived by his devoted wife of 45 years, Barb; loving daughters,
Marsha Hart Fuquay of Dublin, Ohio and Cheryl Ward of Hilliard, Ohio; and
3 precious grandchildren, Rachel (12) Mariah (8) and Brooke(7); a brother,
Dick (Donna) Applegarth of Auburn, Maine; and many nieces and nephews. In
addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Marge
(Mike) Roth of St. Clairsville; brothers, Harold (Ruth) Applegarth of New
Athens and Don (Anne) Applegarth of Oakland, California. Due
to an act of love by a donor family, Wayne received a heart transplant in
1992, enabling him to become a loving “Papa” to all his girls for 12
additional years. Wayne
graduated from St. Clairsville High School in 1957 and attended OU, OSU,
Franklin University and Columbus Community College.
Wayne was an enrolled agent with the IRS and a member of the
National Society of Tax Professionals.
He was formerly district manager of H & R Block, Franklin
County Deputy Auditor, Administrator of Personal Property Tax for Franklin
County, President and Treasurer of Lost Hollow Property Owner’s
Association (Hocking Hills) and Owner of Apple Tax Service of Hilliard,
Ohio, and was an avid motorcycle rider. Heartfelt
thanks to the OSU Heart Transplant Department, the many doctors and nurses
over the years, and a special thank you to the doctors and nurses at the
MICU at OSU. Arrangements
for both St. Clairsville and Columbus are as follows:

Clairsville where the Funeral Services will be on Sunday April 3, 2005 at

W. BAILEY Joe
Walton Bailey, age 95, of Senecaville, Ohio died Tuesday, May 31, 2005 at
Cambridge Health and Rehabilitation Center.
He
was born in Bluefield, West Virginia on August 31, 1909, son of the late
Frank Herbert and Pearl Walton Bailey. Joe
was a retired coal miner and foreman from Fairpoint Coal Company.
He played football at Bluefield High School and Bluefield College.
Joe enjoyed fox hunting, caring for his foxhounds, gardening,
trading with and talking to his friends. In
addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel
O’Quinn Bailey; a sister, Mildred Kidd; and three brothers, Frank,
George and Bernard Bailey. Surviving
are his four children, Joe (Marilyn) Bailey Jr. of Granbury, Texas, Nick
(Wendy) Bailey of Greenwich, Connecticut, Patricia Bevis of Granbury,
Texas, Kristi (Mike) McNell of Senecaville, Ohio; 5 grandchildren; and 7
great grandchildren. There will be services held on Friday at 9:30 a.m. at the Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, Ohio, with Rev. Kim Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio.

Susan “Sue” Baker, age 58, of Jacobsburg, Ohio died Thursday,
September 29, 2005 at Park Health Center in St. Clairsville.
She was born in Bellaire, Ohio on September 14, 1947, a daughter of
the late Myrtis and Bernice Stumbers Pyles. In
addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby
and James Pyles and two sisters, Hazel Smith and Betty Pyles. She
is survived by her husband, Aaron “Tim” Baker Sr.; a daughter, Kathy
Ballowe and her husband Nicholas of Bluffton, South Carolina; a son, Aaron
Baker Jr. and his wife Lisa of Hendrysburg, Ohio; a sister, Mary Mick and
her husband Jack of Uniontown, Ohio; a brother, Kenneth Pyles and his wife
Eileen of Arkansas; two step grandchildren, Nicholas and Kristen Ballowe. Family and friends will be received on Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, where a memorial service will be held on Monday at 4 p.m., with Martin Morrison officiating. ROSE MARIE BARNES Rose Marie Barnes, 86 of “Martin Holler”, Willow Grove, Ohio died Sunday, December 11, 2005 at Forest Hill Nursing Home, St. Clairsville, Ohio. She was born at Neffs, Ohio on March 1, 1919 a daughter of the late John and Jenny Jaworski Florek. Rose Marie was a Homemaker a former Librarian at the Neffs Library and former employee of the Co-Op store in Neffs. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Neffs and the Catholic Women’s Club. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Martin E. “Chuck” Barnes, Sr.; a son Martin E. “Sonny” Barnes, Jr.; a brother Michael C. Florek and a sister Mary Wasko. She is survived by 2 sons, Mitch Barnes and Bob Barnes both of Neffs; 3 daughters, Mrs. R. W. “Bill” (Marlene J.) Cramer of Neffs; Mrs. Louis (Carole R.) Figura of Willow Grove Rd., St. Clairsville and Mrs. Richard (Beverly A.) E. BARTNICKI Harold
Eugene Bartnicki, 56, of Massillon, Ohio, died Saturday, March 19, 2005 in
Massillon Community Hospital. He
was born September 14, 1948, in Wheeling, West Virginia, the son of Edward
Bartnicki and the late Betty Jane Leone Bartnicki. Harold
was an employee of Progressive Ford in Canal Fulton. He was a U. S. Army
veteran of the Vietnam War and a life member of the VFW Post # 3124 in
Massillon. In
addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother, William
Bartnicki. Surviving
in addition to his father, Edward of Barton, Ohio, are his five daughters,
Charlene Mazgaj, Holly Rauschenberg and Rachelle Baugh all of St.
Clairsville, Amanda Bartnicki of the home and Olivia Bartnicki of
Virginia; his fiancé, Christine Koudelka; a stepdaughter, Stephanie
Koudelka of the home; three brothers, John Bartnicki of Fairpoint, Ed and
Jim Bartnicki both of Barton; two sisters, Patricia Sneddon of
Chillicothe, Ohio and Rose Ann Frohnapfel of Colerain; and nine
grandchildren. Friends
will be received at
Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9
p.m., where services will be held on Wednesday at 1 p.m., with Father
Thomas Graven officiating.
Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.

ANNA BARTON Anna Pitts Barton, 82 of Flushing, Ohio died Sunday at Belmont Community Hospital, Bellaire. She was born December 31, 1922 at Parkersburg, West Virginia a daughter of the late William and Ora Bell Wilson Mansfield. Anna was a retired home health care nurse with the Belmont County Committee on Aging and was a Methodist by faith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John Barton and a daughter Edith Arno. Surviving are her children Anora Marlin of Neffs; Esther Williams of Maynard; Herman Pitts of Texas; Dean Pitts of Caldwell, Ohio; Alfred Barton of Bellaire; Kenny Barton of Flushing; Janet Gregory of Colburg, Oregon; Debra Morrow of Barnesville and Lois Maloney of Flushing; many grandchildren and great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren. Annette Bealer, 75 of St. Clairsville died Sunday, November 6, 2005 at
Wheeling Hospital. She
was born February 8, 1930 in Elizabeth, New Jersey. A daughter of the late
Fred Navatier and Verna Kelchner Navatier. She
was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in St. Clairsville and
AARP. In
addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James
H. Bealer in 1984. Surviving
are her children, David Bealer of Pipestone, Minnesota and Carol Douglas
of Columbus; a brother, Fred Navatier of Lehighton, Pennsylvania. Friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Wednesday from noon until time of service at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Homer Harden officiating. Burial follows in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.
ELLA BELT Ella Margaret Belt, 80 of Key, Ohio formerly of Shadyside was born May 7, 1924 and died January 27, 2005. She was preceded in death by her father, Benjamin F. Belt and mother Mary Keyser Belt and her long time companion Bob Houston, all of Bellaire. Ella was a graduate of Bellaire High School and was retired from the former Ohio Bell office at Bellaire. She loved all kinds of sports including tennis, baseball, basketball and football games, especially those played by her nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews at Bellaire High School and Wheeling Park High School.. They knew and loved her as “Mimi” and she loved to spoil them as well. She will be greatly missed by her sister Martha Belt Taylor; nieces and nephews Ben and Jennifer Taylor and Don Taylor all of Bellaire and Mary Lu and Russell Hutchins of Wheeling; great nieces and great nephews Amy, Alyson and Ben Taylor; Nathan Natalie and Emily Taylor; Karrie, Lauren and Aaron Hutchins. Elizabeth “Libby” Bethel, 90 of St. Clairsville, died Friday, August
26, 2005 at East Ohio Regional Hospital in Martins Ferry. She was born in
Portsmouth, Ohio on August 8, 1915 a daughter of the late L. K. and Ann L.
Pitzer. Libby
was a school teacher in Portsmouth, Ohio, Fairpoint, Ohio and Bellaire,
Ohio School Districts.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church at St. Clairsville
where she served as an Elder and Deacon and was a member of the
Presbyterian Women.
She also was a member of Belmont County Retired Teachers
Association. In
addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, F. Dale
Bethel in 2003. Libby
is survived by her children, Patty (Earl) Stegall of Portsmouth, Virginia,
Beverly (Jim) Heddleson of Caldwell, Ohio and Art (Mary) Bethel of
Fuquay Varina, North Carolina; a brother, Art (Merle) Pitzer of Raleigh,
North Carolina; 9 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and 4 great great

JOHN BOICH John J. Boich, 76 of High Street Extension, St. Clairsville died Monday, July 25, 2005 at Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling. He was born at Fairpoint, Ohio on October 20, 1928 a son of the late Milan and Hazel Hepner Boich. John was a retired high school principal and teacher at Loudonville and Newcomerstown, Ohio. He was a member of the Ohio Retired Teachers Association, Licking Lodge #291 F.& A.M. at Utica, Ohio, the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Columbus and was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret “Peggy” Booze Boich and a sister, Veda Hackett. He is survived by a son, John M. Boich of Columbus, Ohio; a daughter, Karen S. Gallaugher of Westerville, Ohio; sisters Myrtle Donda and Alice Cecil both of St. Clairsville; Jessie Swanek of Cleveland and a granddaughter, Chelsea Gallaugher. Borovich, 79, of Glencoe Rd., St. Clairsville, died Wednesday, October 19,
2005 at Wheeling Hospital. He
was born December 17, 1925 in St. Clairsville. A son of the late Roman and
Mary Moroski Borovich. He
was a retired coal miner from Oglebay Norton’s Saginaw mine in St.
Clairsville, a Navy veteran of WWII, served in the Civilian Conservation
Corps, a member of Glencoe American Legion Post 632, UMWA, DAV # 117 in
Bellaire. In
addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Lorena
Green Borovich; a son, Joseph Borovich; three sisters, Sophia Ruble, Mary
Trytko, and Anna Ball. Surviving
are his wife, Ruth Baker Jeffers Borovich; step daughters, Tina (Randy)
Hayes of Warnock, Penny (Clay) Mannix and Robin (Glen) Fridley of
Cincinnati, and Tammy (Bill) White of Morristown; three brothers, John

Jean Brown, age 67, of Wegee Road, Shadyside, died Monday, May 9, 2005 at
Wheeling Hospital. She
was born July 29, 1937 in Shadyside, Ohio, daughter of the late George W.
and Helen Heath Williams. Eleanor
Jean was a retired employee from City Hospital in Bellaire and City
Restaurant in Bellaire.
She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Shadyside. In
addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey
Brown; and two brothers, Richard and H. David Williams. Surviving
are her husband, James L. Brown; two sons, James Lee (Lisa) Brown of
Shadyside and George Brown at home; three daughters, Tammy (Dave) Mathews,
Trudy Brown and Tina Brown all of Shadyside; two brothers, Russell (Carol)

are her husband of 49 and a half years, Harold K. Brown; two sons, Thomas
Brown and his wife Suzette of Key, and John M. Brown of St.Clairsville; a

She was born at Midway, Ohio on December 22, 1907 a daughter of the late Bolick and Ludviga Ruckowski Ornouski. Sophia was a homemaker, a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church at Fairpoint and the Catholic Women’s Club. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert A. Bundy in 1971; her sons-in-law Michael Durante and George P. Davis and several brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Dorothy Durante Davis of St. Clairsville; a granddaughter, Lea Renee (Terry) Travis of North Ridgeville, Ohio; a grandson, M. Todd (Robyn) Durante of St. Clairsville; 2 great grandchildren; 1 great great granddaughter; 2 step grandchildren and 5 step great grandchildren. D. Burdine, age 69, of Glencoe, died Friday, October 28, 2005 at her home.
She was born August 11, 1936 in Bellaire, daughter of the late John
W and Bessie Weekley Sawyers. Freda
was a member of the Glencoe American Legion Auxiliary. In
addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert
W. Burdine; two sisters, Mary Sawyers and Nora Hudson; and a brother,
Frank Sawyers. Surviving
are her children, Bud Burdine, John Burdine and Patty Early all of
Glencoe, Tina Bumgardner of Neffs and Bob Bailey of St. Clairsville; a
sister, Elizabeth Kopyar of Belmont; a brother, Robert Sawyers of Powhatan
Point; six grandchildren and one great grandchild. Friends will be received on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, where services will be held on Monday at 1 p.m. with Pastor Jeff Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at Warnock Cemetery.

June Burgess, 77, died Thursday, August 4, 2005 at her home in St Clairsville. She
was born on January 15, 1928 in Wheeling, West Virginia, daughter of the
late William D. Brewer and Harriet M. Brestle Brewer. In addition to
her parents, Billie was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald T.
“Jerry” Burgess. Surviving
are her four children, Janette (David) Zeik of Bridgeport, William D.
(Cathy) Burgess of St. Clairsville, Karen (Paul) Bickmeier of Shadyside
and Lori (Tim) Bouman of Cincinnati; 8 grandchildren; 3 great
grandchildren. Billie
was a retired seamstress with Stone and Thomas in Wheeling. She was a
member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Wheeling and St. Johns
Lutheran Church in Martins Ferry. She was a member of the Order of
Eastern Star, Bridgeport Chapter # 452; the Fort Henry Piece Makers, and the Red
Hat Society of Wheeling. Although
our hearts are saddened and her presence will be missed by all; we
rejoice in knowing that she no longer will see the Lord through faith, but
stand beside Him along with others who have been waiting for her. Family

Clairsville on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Saturday from 11:30
a.m. until time of services at 12:30 p.m., with Rev. Robert A. Coupe

M. Carlier, 94, of Belmont, Ohio, formerly of Bridgeport, Ohio, died
Monday, March 7, 2005 in Barnesville Hospital surrounded by her loving
family. She
was born March 12, 1910, in McDonald, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the
late George and Anna Kozesnik Martinek. Emily
was a former L. S. Goods employee, a telephone operator, and a long time
member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church on Wheeling Island.
She taught Sunday school and served the church in many capacities
throughout her life. She
was an avid gardener, meticulous homemaker and proficient in the needle
arts. She was
also a gracious hostess to all who visited her home. In
addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband,
Alexander Carlier; three sons, Harry, George, and Gary; and three sisters
and two brothers. Surviving
are her son, Daniel (Sherry) Carlier of Belmont; daughters in law, Carol
Carlier of St. Clairsville, Evelyn Peppler of Lansing and Carole Tracy of
Columbus. Also
surviving are 13 grandchildren, Annette, Pierre, Danielle, Alexis,
Charles, Carol Ann, Mark, Michelle, Tracy, Tina, Todd, Terri, and Troy; 17

catholic, WWII Army veteran, and member of the DAV No. 117 in Bellaire. In
addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary

home. She
was born July 2, 1912 at St. Joe, Ohio. A daughter of the late James
Merwood Childers and Flora Kratz Childers. She
was a retired secretary from the Capitol Theater in Bellaire. In
addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Shirley
Childers, Dorothy Curtin and Iola Childers; and a brother, Alden Childers. Surviving
are two sisters, Virginia Childers and Anna Belle Archishewsky both of
Neffs and a brother, James K. Childers of Neffs; several nieces and

Nelson Clark, age 65, of Bellaire, Ohio, died Saturday, February 12, 2005
at his home. He
was born February 4, 1940 at Stewartsville, Ohio, son of the late Richard

was a retired employee from HLC Trucking in Powhatan Point, Ohio.
He served in the U. S. Navy and was a member of the Eagles Aerie #
371, F.O.E. in Bellaire. In
addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by a son, James
Richard Clark in 1994 and a brother, Thomas Clark in 1996. Surviving

Evangeline was a retired practical nurse and a member of the First Christian Church of New Philadelphia. She is survived by a brother John DePaoli of Marble Falls, Texas and several nieces and nephews. Arthur DiClemente, 69, of 129 Markatan St., Flushing, Ohio died Sunday,
March 27, 2005 at East Ohio Regional Hospital in Martins Ferry, Ohio. He
was born July 29, 1935 in Flushing, Ohio. A son of the late Andrew
DiClemente and Elsie DeVincenzo DiClemente. He
was a graduate of Flushing High School, a retired employee of R&F Coal
in Cadiz, a former construction worker of high tension lines, and member
of IBEW Local No. 126, and an Army veteran serving in Germany following
WWII . He enjoyed harness racing and was a member of the United States
Trotting Association in Columbus. He owned several winning horses over the
years and
competed at many local county fairs and race tracks. One of his
proudest achievements was having played in the Cy Young Baseball League
and his photo taken with Cy Young hangs in the Baseball Hall of Fame in
Cooperstown, New York. In
addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Marco and
Ray DiClemente and a sister, Alice Buti. Surviving
are two brothers, Eugene “Gene” DiClemente of Parkersburg, West
Virginia, and Francis DiClemente of Gallipolis, Ohio; two sisters, Susan
Spang of Grand Rapids, Michigan and Karen DiClemente of Anchorage, Alaska;
several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Friends

She was born November 30, 1908 in Cherry Valley, Pennsylvania, a
daughter of the late Albert and Dorothy Nowak Kafka. Mary
was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Maynard and a member of
the PNA Lodge # 455 in Maynard. In
addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer
Dundr Sr; a daughter, Barbara Ann; three brothers, Joe, John and Steven
Kafka; and three sisters, Maria Kafka, Lucy Kafka and Stella Berbig. Surviving
are her daughter, Jean Oboy and her husband John of Maynard; a son, Elmer
“Bud” Dundr Jr with whom Mary resided; a sister, Ann Shrieve of San

DALE DUNFEE Robert Dale Dunfee, 77 of Jacobsburg, Ohio died Thursday, January 27, 2005 at Wheeling Hospital He was born at Jacobsburg on February 25, 1927 a son of the late Robert James Dunfee and Lida Kanzigg Dunfee. Dale was a former employee of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel’s Benwood plant, former owner/operator of Dale’s Barber Shop at Centerville and Glencoe and a retired employee of the Ohio Edison R.E. Burger Plant at Dilles Bottom. He was a former Smith Township Clerk, a former member of the Smith Township Volunteer Fire Department a member of Weyer Lodge #541 F.& A.M. at Centerville and an Army veteran of the Korean War. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers William Eugene Dunfee and James Laverne Dunfee and sisters Stella Carpenter and Nada Trigg. Surviving are his wife Betty Stonebraker Dunfee; his son James O. TERRY EASTERWOOD Terry S. Easterwood, 64 of Morristown, Ohio died Monday, December 19, 2005 at the Cleveland Clinic Hospital. He was born at Washington, DC on October 7, 1941 a son of the late Oliver Perry and Emma Scott Proctor Easterwood. Terry was a retired attorney and partner in the former Basnett and Easterwood law firm in St. Clairsville. He was also a former member of the St. Clairsville Jaycees and the St. Clairsville Noon Rotary Club and was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents. She was born at Bellaire, Ohio on October 28, 1920 a daughter of the late Elsworth and Luvina Palmer Monahan. Mildred was a homemaker and a member of the Warnock Community Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Daniel Eikelberry; brothers Paul Monahan, James Eugene Monahan and Arthur Elsworth Monahan; sisters Pearl Catherine Monahan, Velma Monahan, Ethel Ault, Alma Porter and Alta Myler. She is survived by a son Daniel Leroy Eikelberry of Lafferty; a daughter Diane Marie Luke of Shadyside; a sister Helen Burtt of Massillon, Ohio; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. addition to his parents, Henry was preceded in death by three brothers,

was born November 6, 1929 in Mount Vernon, Ohio. A daughter of the late
Ray Brooks Michaels and Helen Joyce Severns Michaels. She
was a former nurses aide and a catholic. In
addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Jane and
brother, James. She
will be sadly missed by her children, Michael and Jeffrey Boucher of Mount

was a Christian, an Army Air Corp veteran of WWII, a lifetime member of
Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5356 in St. Clairsville, and the American
Legion Post in Shelbyville, Indiana. In
addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian
Ryckman Faurote; sisters, Jean Hutchinson and Janet Wilson; brother,
Kenneth Faurote. Surviving

resident of Fruitland Park, Florida since 1983 died Saturday, April 16,

the late Okey Underwood and Vondia Duty Underwood. Brownie
was a U.S. Postal Service employee in St. Clairsville for 20 years, a

member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, National Association of Retired
Federal Employees, Public Employees Retirees, Inc. of Ohio, AFSCME Retiree

John Gregan, age 62, of St. Clairsville, Ohio, died Sunday, November 20,
2005 as the result of an apparent heart attack. He was born January
25,1943 in Greensboro, Pennsylvania to Martin and Catherine Gregan who

Martin Gregan III. Surviving
are his wife, Linda Golden Gregan; their three children, Rhonda Lynn
Gregan Ondash and her husband Ed of Streetsboro, Ohio, Ronald W. Gregan
and his wife Jennifer Jeffers Gregan of Shadyside, Ohio, Matthew John
Gregan of Las Vegas, Nevada; five grandchildren, Kayla and Joanna Ondash

daughters, Lauren, Hailey and Meghan; nieces and nephews. Ron
graduated from Fairmont State College in 1967; he later received his
masters degree from West Virginia University. He taught school in
the local area at Martins Ferry High School, Triadelphia High School,
Brooke High School and retired from St. Clairsville High School. He
coached athletics at each school and was the head football coach at
Bridgeport High School. Ron was impressed with the athletes in the
area. He valued his years as a teacher, and he valued his time as
the St. Clairsville defensive coordinator serving under head coach George
Strager. Ron
had a strong belief in God and was a true friend to many. Besides
being missed by family, he will be missed by his golfing buddies. He
embraced life and enjoyed each moment. Jamboree in the Hills will
never be the same. If prizes were given to grandfathers for loving
and caring for his grandchildren, Ron would be a winner. He was a

Hepburn. She was a member of the Belmont
Presbyterian Church on Key Ridge and was a retired employee of the Key
Mutual Telephone Company with 38 years of service. In addition to her parents, she was
preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Haught in 1981; an infant
daughter, Betty Jean; a son, Paul L. Haught in 1972; three brothers,
Kenneth, John, and Charles “Monty” Hepburn; two sisters, Isabel

was a retired electrician from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel’s Martins Ferry
plant, an Army Air Force veteran of WWII, a member of the Pearl Harbor
Survivor’s Association and the Centerville Senior Center. In
addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years,
Bessie Fitch Haught in 2000; two brothers, Forrest and Ray Haught. Surviving

VIVIAN HAYES Vivian May Hayes, 87, of St. Clairsville, formerly of Merrillville, Ind., died Wednesday, May 11, 2005, at Reynolds Memorial Hospital in Glen Dale, W.Va. She was born May 21, 1917, in Clinton, Ind., a daughter of Joseph Watson & Carrie Viola Wells Foncannon. On August 15, 1939, she was married to William E. Hayes, who preceded her in death. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a son, William E. Hayes, Jr. and a brother, John Foncannon. Vivian was a 1935 graduate of Clinton High School. She received her RN degree from Union Hospital School of Nursing at Terre Haute, Indiana in 1938. She spent most of her life in Merrillville, Indiana where she was a homemaker and a member of Merrillville Methodist Church. She always said the happiest time of her life was raising her two daughters. In 1996 she moved to St. Clairsville. Surviving are two daughters Sue Parker of St. Clairsville and her companion Dr. A. J. was a retired employee of Ohio Ferro-Alloy, an Army veteran of WWII, and
member of the Neffs American Legion and Neffs Rod and Gun Club. In

Ann Holloway, 69 of Glencoe Rd., Belmont formerly of Neffs died Monday,
November 28, 2005 at East Ohio Regional Hospital in Martins Ferry. She
was born May 23, 1936 in Bradley, Ohio, daughter of the late Jacob and
Margaret Novak Holloway. She
was a member of Neffs United Methodist Church and a retired employee of
Days Inn in St. Clairsville. In
addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Jacob,
Oscar, Joseph and Charles Holloway. Surviving

JACK HUPP Jack C. Hupp, 68 of Glencoe, Ohio died Thursday, June 9, 2005 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry. He was born at Bridgeport January 20, 1937 a son of the late Jack and Edna Alvey Hupp. Jack was a retired Sergeant First Class from the U.S. Army with 23 years of service having served during the Korean War and two tours in Vietnam. He was also a former employee of the Belmont Habilitation Center at St. Clairsville and was a member of American Legion Post #632 at Glencoe. She was born July 5, 1899 in Round Bottom, Monroe County, Ohio,
daughter of the late William R. McFarland and Ella Magdalene Imhoff
McFarland. Freda
was a retired secretary and office manager for the War and Treasury
Departments in North Carolina during World War II.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in St.
Clairsville. In
addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Allison
James in 1975; four brothers, Earl, Ray, Everett and Wayne McFarland; and
three sisters, Olga Howard, Beulah Haskell and Elizabeth Stowers and a
niece, Nancy McFarland Wood. Surviving

She was born August 16, 1933 in St. Clairsville, Ohio, daughter of
the late Charles Russell McHugh and Mamie Miller McHugh. Marianne
was a retired legal secretary from Thornburg, Bean and Glick Law Office.
She was a member of Thoburn United Methodist Church where she was a member
of the United Methodist Women and was a member of the choir for over 50
years. In
addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Charles
William McHugh. Surviving
are her husband, Richard E. Jenkins; a daughter, Kathy Smith and her
husband Richard of Golden, Colorado; two sisters, Mamie Ellen Kinzy of St.

a daughter of the late William S. and Glenna Rauschenburg McLaughlin. Evaleen
was a member of Deepwater Methodist Church in Deepwater, New Jersey. In
addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Col.
Raymond Johnson; a son, William H. Beall; and two sisters, Winifred J.
Rice and Lillian McLaughlin. Evaleen
is survived by her grandsons, Keith Beall of St. Clairsville and J.B.
Beall of Montevideo, Minnesota; a daughter-in-law, Peggy Beall of St.

Lou Jones, 56, of St. Clairsville, Ohio died at home Tuesday morning, June
21, 2005, after a 15-year battle with metastatic
breast cancer. She
was born August 22, 1948 in Wheeling, West Virginia, the first child and
daughter of Nora K. and the late Louis “Bud” Chisnell. Cindy
was a wife, mother, homemaker, and devoted over three decades to the
nurturing, care, and education of children. Her early career was as a math
and science teacher for the St. Clairsville-Richland public school system,
but the majority of her professional employment was serving Belmont
Technical College as the Director of Child Care Services. Cindy was a
member of Thoburn United Methodist Church, an alumna of Ohio University,
an avid reader, a card stamping and scrap booking enthusiast, an
internet/online “prayer warrior”, and a great lover of both animals
and the Arts. Cindy
was preceded in death by her father, Louis and by her youngest brother,
Jeffrey L. Chisnell, both former residents of New Athens, Ohio. Surviving
are her husband, Larry D. Jones; her daughter and son-in-law, Lawenda
“Wendy” and Steven “Sid” Tucker of Akron, Ohio; her son, Lance D.
Jones of Bowling Green, Ohio; her mother, Nora K. Chisnell of St.
Clairsville, Ohio formerly of New Athens, Ohio; her brother and

HAZEL KLUG Hazel A. Klug, 76 of Jacobsburg, Ohio died Wednesday, August 24, 2005 in Richmond, Va. after a brief illness. She was born August 20, 1929 in Cresop, W.Va. the daughter of the late James Pritchard and Sadie Liz (Jarrell) Peery. She was a former employee of Bobbie Brooks Sewing Factory in Bellaire and a Catholic by faith. Hazel died at peace with her life and looking forward to joining in heaven her beloved husband Edward T. Klug, her daughters Sandra Ramon and Alice Klug and granddaughter Sara Hairfield. Hazel spent her last days with family members at her side. True to her kind spirit, Hazel continued to laugh, share memories and light up the eyes of visiting relatives and friends. Caring for her large family and extended family throughout her life, Hazel profoundly touched the lives of all who knew her. In her last hours on earth, Hazel expressed happiness for having such a “unique and wonderful life.” She is survived by her children Edward T. was a retired employee of the former Pennsylvania Railroad, currently
Amtrak.
She was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church at Maynard. In

was a retired postmistress in Warnock. She was a lifelong member of

She was born September 15, 1924 in St. Clairsville, Ohio, daughter
of the late Samuel Zavacky Sr. and Anna Mularcik Zavacky. Mary
was a retired nurses aid and former employee of Higbee Department Store in
Cleveland.
She was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Maynard and a
member of the Greek Catholic Society. In
addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Samuel
Zavacky Jr. and Paul Zavacky Sr. Surviving
are her loving husband of 50 years, Frank T. March; two brothers, John
Zavacky of West Mifflin, Pennsylvania and Lewis Zavacky of St.
Clairsville; a sister, Helen Torok of Blacklick, Ohio; and several nieces
and nephews. Family

He was born at Glencoe, Ohio on September 23, 1915 a son of the late Mane and Simica Vucelich Mikasinovich. Eli retired from the former Y & O Coal Allison Mine and had previously been employed at several other local mines. He was a member of Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Church at Steubenville the Bellaire Eagles and the Serbian National Federation of Pittsburgh. Arthur Mead, age 81, of Belmont, died Sunday, July 10, 2005 at the
Aspinwall Veteran’s Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He
was born May 5, 1924 in Bethesda, Ohio, son of the late George and Pearl
Holden Mead. Marman
was a retired Machinist from Blaw-Knox in Wheeling.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II; a
member of the National Rifle Association, the Bethesda
Sportsmen’s Club, the Ohio Gun Collectors and former member of the VFW
Post # 5356 at St. Clairsville. In
addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Anson Mead;
and a sister, Kitty Morris. Surviving
are his wife, Beatrice Jessee Mead; three sons, Alan Mead and Cindy Ward,
Arthur Mead and Mike Mead all of Belmont; a daughter, Marilyn Applegarth

W. “Whig” Miller, age 82, of St. Clairsville, Ohio, died Wednesday,
February 2, 2005 at Crestview Health Care Center in St. Clairsville. He
was born on March 24, 1922 at Steeple Valley, Ohio, son of the late John
Joseph Miller and Anna Marie McGill Miller Riggs. John
retired as owner and operator of Miller’s Barber Shop on Wheeling Island
after 55 years of service.
He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of St.
James Lutheran Church in Wheeling.
John was a member of Bethesda Sportsman’s Association; a member
of the Moundsville Gun Club; the Amateur Trap Shooting Association; the
NRA and he ran the Old Mill Gun Club in Uniontown. In
addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret
Ellen “Peggy” Nisbitt Miller; and his stepfather, F. Ross Riggs. Surviving
are a daughter, Cheri Farmer and her husband Daryl of Steubenville, Ohio;
two grandchildren, Brian Farmer and Deborah Needham; two great
grandchildren, Megan and Chad Needham; and a sister, Mary Margaret

Pulay was the Extension Agent Family and Consumer Sciences with The Ohio
State University in Belmont County. She received her Bachelors Degree from
W.L.S.C. and Masters Degree from Ohio University, Athens, Ohio. She was
active on many County Boards, County Extension Homemakers, and was an
active member of the First Presbyterian Church, St. Clairsville. Surviving
in addition to her parents of Wheeling are her loving husband, Thomas
Pulay whom she married on October 22, 1971; a son, Kirk Andrew Pulay of
Belleville, Michigan; daughter, Alana Suzanne Pulay of Charleston, West
Virginia; daughter-in-law, Lauren Yoho Pulay of Belleville, Michigan;
sister, Susan Wright and her husband Stephen of Lakeland, Florida; two
brothers, Bruce Denham and his wife Tina of Wheeling, and Daniel Denham of
Florida; mother-in-law, Irene Pulay of St. Clairsville. She is also
survived by many close friends and co-workers. Friends
will be received at The Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on
Tuesday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 pm. Friends then received on Wednesday
from 10 am. until the
service celebrating her life is held at 11 am. in the First
Presbyterian Church, St. Clairsville with Rev. Homer Harden officiating.

RICH RAMSAY Richard L. Ramsay, 76 of Jacobsburg, Ohio died Saturday, June 18, 2005 at his home.
He was born at Jacobsburg December 4, 1928 a son of the late Charles and Flora Sindeldecker Ramsay.
Rich was a retired employee of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel having worked for many years at the Benwood Plant and finishing as a security guard at the Duvall Center. He was a member of the Jacobsburg United Methodist Church, Weyer Lodge #541 F.& A.M. at Centerville and the True Sportsman’s Club of Jacobsburg.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Bob Ramsay and his sister Betty Johnson Brunner.
He is survived by his wife Rose Hennebert Ramsay; his daughters Pam (Harry) McClure of Beallsville, Ohio and Rhonda (Bob) Zimmerman of Chesterfield, Michigan; grandchildren Melissa (Matt) Mansuetto, Ben (Jennifer) Haines, Amy (Jason) Fisher; Matthew (Rebecca) Ferrell and Taite Ferrell; great grandchildren Tristan Ferrell, Emma Haines, Kaleb Ferrell, Samuel Haines, Sydney Mansuetto and baby girl Mansuetto.

Jean Long Ramsey, 78, of Jacobsburg, Ohio, died Wednesday, July 27, 2005
at Shadyside Care Center. She
was born on January 22, 1927 in Fairmont, West Virginia, daughter of the
late Hobert Elsworth Long and Jaursia Drusilla Ash Long. In
addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Dean
D. Ramsey Sr.; two sons, Robert Ramsey Sr. and Randy Ramsey Sr.; three
sisters, Mary Nicholas, Lenora Halio and an infant; five brothers, Robert,
Ralph and Russell Long and two infants; and a great grandson. Surviving
are her children, Dean D. Ramsey Jr. and Darrell Ramsey Sr. and his wife
Marilyn all of Jacobsburg, Kathy Skaggs of Belmont and Dorothy DeGenova
and her husband Lou of Shadyside; two sisters, Louise DeVault and her
husband Leonard of Dilliner, Pennsylvania and Elma Efaw of Levittstown,
Pennsylvania; two brothers, Richard Long of Warren, Ohio and Ray Long and

was a homemaker and member of the United Church of God. In
addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George
Rimel; three brothers, Walter, John and Eddie Worley; and a sister, Gale

V. Ross, age 68, of Bellaire, passed away Friday, January 14, 2005 at
Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling. He
was born on February 28, 1936 in Tyrone, Pennsylvania, son of the late Rebecca Isenburg. Donald
was a retired employee of Triangle Conduit at Glen Dale and a U. S. Air
Force veteran of the Korean War.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and he loved animals.
Don was an avid fan of Notre Dame, the New York Yankees and
Shadyside Tiger Football. In
addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bernadine
Salva Ross; three brothers, Eugene, Robert and Paul Ross; and a sister,
Betty Gonder. Surviving
are a daughter, Misty Maupin and her husband Darrin of Bellaire; a son,
Donny Ross II and his wife Barbara of Bellaire; three grandchildren,
Ariann and Jacob Maupin and Brianna Ross; a brother, Richard Ross of

Sabo, age 84, of Maynard, Ohio, died Tuesday, March 1, 2005 at Forest Hill
Nursing Home in St. Clairsville. He
was born June 21, 1920 at Maynard, Ohio, son of the late Kalman and Julia
Kovach Sabo. Kalman
was a retired employee from Consolidation Coal Company.
He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II; a member of Maynard
United Methodist Church; a member of the Saints Club in St. Clairsville;
the UMW Local # 1360; a member of the American Legion Post #666 at Maynard
and the Maynard Sportsman’s Club. In
addition to his parents, Kalman was preceded in death by five brothers,
Frank, Joe, Bill, Louis and Ernie Sabo. Surviving
are his wife of 63 years, Mildred L. Soukup Sabo; a son, Bob Sabo and his
wife Carole of St. Clairsville; and two very special grandchildren that
were his pride and joy, Julie and Justin Sabo. Family

Leroy Saffell, Sr., 65 of West Captina Highway, Alledonia, Ohio died

was born December 5, 1939 in Alledonia. A son of the late Kenneth L.
Saffell and Sylvia Ruschak Saffell. He
was a construction worker and former owner of Saffell Trucking. In
addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother,
Lloyd; and brothers, Bob, Richard, and Don; sister, Nancy Mollendick. Surviving
are his wife, Judy Sleasman Saffell; nine children, Patty (Lee) Beckett of

MARY SCYPTA Mary Catherine Vicker Scypta, 88 of St. Clairsville was called to be with her maker on Wednesday, March 16, 2005. She is now reunited with her loving husband of 67 years, Bruney and her two sons: infant Ronald and a stillborn son. Bruney died in January 2004. She was born in Maynard, Ohio the youngest child of Peter and Anna Guzik Vicker. Mary was a loyal member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in St. Clairsville and also a member of the PNA of Maynard. She and Bruney were avid bridge players and bowlers. She looked forward to her time spent with her loving family. Her family includes daughter Elaine (Edwin) Delesk of Columbus, daughter Christine (Frank) Targoss of Wintersville and son Gary (Jill) Scypta of Plymouth, Michigan and her sister Helen Dundr of Dillonvale. Her extended family includes six grandchildren, two step granddaughters, eight great grandchildren and a special friend Mary Bisoski of Michigan. In addition to her husband and sons she was preceded in death by brothers Stanley and his infant twin brother; Joseph and Frank Vicker. Her sisters included Bertha Chuckery, Sophie Oboy and Anna Dombroski. Walter was a retired employee of Consol’s Franklin No. 25 mine, a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church at Maynard, PNA Lodge #455 at Maynard, Maynard American Legion Post 666, Colerain VFW Post 8848 and was an Army veteran of World War II having served in the south Pacific from 1941 to 1945. R. SPINOS Donald
Ray Spinos, age 75, died in his home at Belmont Habilitation Center on
Friday, June 17, 2005. He
was born December 26, 1929 in Parma, Ohio, a son of the late Frank and
Theresa Sanyo Spinos. Donald
has two surviving younger brothers, Charles and David who reside in
Richland, Washington. He
was employed at the Belco Workshop in St. Clairsville, Ohio.
Donald had many friends at work and at his place of residence.
He was a fun loving person who enjoyed dancing and calling people
turkeys. He maintained a collection of pens, paper-clips and clipboards.
Donald enjoyed “gadgets” of any type that would light up, play
music, etc., especially ones he could wear around his neck.
He loved to wear sun glasses so everyone would tell him he looked
“cool”.
Donald liked to tease everyone and tell them that it was 4:30 p.m.
No matter what was going on, it was always 4:30 p.m. to Donald. Friends
will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Thursday
from 1:30 p.m. until time of service at 2:30 p.m., with
Rev. Wayne Ickes officiating. Burial follows in Belmont County
Cemetery in St. Clairsville. We were blessed to have known you, Donald and we will miss you, Turkey-man.

Virginia Stack, 92, of St. Clairsville, Ohio died Friday, September 30,
2005 in Park Health Center, St. Clairsville.
She was born June16, 1913 in Maynard, Ohio, daughter of the late
Otto and Mabel Findley Kasik. Mildred
was a retired head waitress from Belmont Hills Country Club in St.
Clairsville and former employee from Belmont Press in St. Clairsville.
She was a member of the Harbor of Hope Assembly of God in St.
Clairsville. In
addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Clifford
Daniel Stack Jr.; and four sisters, Elizabeth Mazeroski, Madalyn Staten,
Laura Morrison and Dorothy Bowden. Surviving
are a son, David Stack of St. Clairsville; a daughter, Oralee Johnson of
Indiana; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Stack of Belmont; a sister, Kathryn

Ohio died Thursday, January 27, 2005 at Forest Hill Care Center in St.
Clairsville. She
was born in Richwood, West Virginia on September 15, 1926, a daughter of
the late Perry and Pearl Bailey. In
addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dean W.
Steele in 1993; a son, Ralph in 1981; six brothers, Lawrence “Tonnie”.

MINNIE STEPPUTTIS Minnie Stepputtis, 79 of Hutchinson Drive, St. Clairsville died Tuesday, June 28, 2005 at Wheeling Hospital. She was born at Pawnee City, Nebraska on August 19, 1925 a daughter of the late William and Minnie Meier Droge. Minnie was a retired secretary for the former Leeds Furniture Co. of Wheeling. She was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church at St. Clairsville where she was very active in the women’s group. She was also actively involved with the St. Clairsville Council of Churches and performed many volunteer services including working with the Food Pantry and volunteering at Park Health Center. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Gladys Wissler. Surviving are her husband Victor “Vic” Stepputtis; her daughter Susan D. Stepputtis and her son Richard “Rick” Stepputtis and his wife Susan L. all of St. Clairsville; her brother Robert Droge and his wife Carolyn of Dubois, Nebraska; 3 nieces and 1 nephew. She was born October 3, 1909 at Endicott, West Virginia a daughter of the late Joseph Asbury Crow and Estella Florence Masters Crow. Irene was a retired farmer and a member of the Belmont United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Joel Sidney Stern and a sister Thelma Finnicum. A daughter of the late Gabriel Cooley Nusser and Cora Adine Duncan Nusser. She was a former employee at the National Church Envelope Factory on Rt. 30 in West Virginia and retired from Country Club Retirement Center in Bellaire, Ohio. She attended Lava Ave. Baptist Church in Elm Grove, West Virginia and Pleasant View Baptist Church in Tucson, Arizona. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy E. Stewart on March 2, 1988. They were married July 21, 1955. She was also preceded by sister, Mae Jablonski of McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania and a grandson, Erich Trinkkeller. He was born at Key, Ohio on November 13, 1919 a son of the late Harry and Harriett Patterson Trimble. Harold was a retired carpenter with Carpenter’s Local 3 at Wheeling, a member and elder of Bethel Presbyterian Church at Key, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars at Powhatan Point and American Legion Post 521 at Shadyside. He also served his country during World War II as a member of the U.S. Army Air Corps. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Abel Trimble, a brother Ralph Trimble, a sister Kay Schroeder and son-in-law, Richard Skapik. Andy was a retired machinist for Consolidation Coal Co., a member of UMWA Local #7690 and a member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church at Barton where he served on the church council. He had a lifelong dedication to conservation and was an avid horticulturist. Cobre Tire Company in Cambridge.
He was a member of the Church of Christ in St. Clairsville; a U. S.

Indians and Browns fan. In

of Belmont Habilitation Center in St. Clairsville died Monday, May
9, 2005 at East Ohio Regional Hospital in Martins Ferry. He

was an employee of Belco Sheltered Workshop and a resident of Belmont
Habilitation Center since 1983 where he made many friends. He was a unique
and quiet man who was greatly cared for and
in his own way let his own caring feelings be known to others. He
will be sadly missed. In
addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Jimmy,

WEBSTER Barbara Jean Webster (B.J.), Brought into
this world September 30, 1950 was called home to the Lord, (August 13,
2005) from her courageous battle with cancer. She died peacefully at home
with her family by her side. She is survived by her beloved husband,
Jeffrey Webster of Grand Island Fla.; parents Regenia and Vernon J. Leach
of Eustis, Fla.; her loving daughter, Brandy Webster-Slate of Leesburg
Fla.; and grandson, Trevor Jeffrey Slate of Leesburg Fla., who was the
sunshine of her life. She is also survived by her sister, Jacqueline A
Leach, of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada; brothers Vernon John Leach Jr. of
Williamsburg Va. and Frank Thomas Leach of Eustis Fla. Barbara was a very loving, personable and
outgoing woman, who loved to go on cruises and make new friends. Barbara was a compassionate woman who
freely gave her support and loving care to family and friends. She was
last employed by Leesburg Regional Medical Center, and The Villages
Regional Hospital as a PBX operator. She will be missed by all whose life
